Your organization played a big role in making last year’s National Voter Registration Day a HUGE success — nearly half a million new or updated registrations with events in every state!
And with your help, we know this year can be even MORE successful but there are some hills to climb! Some estimates show that we are losing over two million new voter registrations a month as DMVs, social service offices, and campaign or field activities are shut down or significantly limited due to social distancing.

- August 12 — Planning for your National Voter Registration Day Event During the COVID Crisis: A crash course in registration event planning for in-person AND online events. Our speakers, Kevin Shanker Sinha, Founder of Civic Georgia and Tappan Vickery, Director of Voter Engagement for Head Count, will share tips, tricks, and success stories of how they’ve adapted their all-important work since the start of the pandemic. Plus, we’ll teach you how to COVID-proof your in-person events and share a cheat sheet for the different digital tools you can use to register voters.
- August 17 — Using Facebook for Voter Registration Success: As the largest social network in the world, Facebook offers a golden opportunity to spread the word about voter registration to a broad and diverse swath of potential registrants in a COVID-friendly manner. Our speaker Crystal Patterson, head of Global and Civic Partnerships at Facebook and a member of National Voter Registration Day’s Steering Committee, will serve up the inside scoop on putting together a strategy that your users are sure to “Like.”
- August 18 — Voter Registration (in 280 Characters or Less) on Twitter: Quick, topical, passionate, Twitter serves as the de facto pulse for news and events big and small. As the ever-shifting world of COVID-driven voter happenings tops the trending lists, joining the 280 character conversation is a no-brainer and our speaker Lauren Devoll, Senior Public Policy Associate at Twitter, will show you the best way to do it.
- August 20 — Snap the Vote: Civic Engagement on Snapchat: With registering and turning out young voters being the eternal pursuit of election wonks across America, Snapchat can be an immeasurably powerful tool for outreach. Rest assured, Snap has big plans for driving Millennial and Gen-Z turnout in a pandemic and our speaker Sofia Gross, member of both Snapchat’s Public Policy team and National Voter Registration Day’s Steering Committee, will lay out all the details for you.
